Margaret C. Holmberg Scholarship Award (Established in Spring 2024, started in Fall 2025)
In appreciation for her contributions to our children and families, the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health profession, and to our local, state, national and world communities, the Connecticut Association of Infant Mental Health (CT-AIMH) is establishing the Margaret C. Holmberg Scholarship Fund, named for CT-AIMH’s founder and first BOD president.
What can the scholarship be used for?
Any CT-AIMH Conference Registration Fee, or other CT-AIMH offering.
What amount will each applicant receive?
There are no guarantees that there will be funds available from year to year.
Typically, each applicant would be applying for the cost of their registration fee for either the Spring or Fall CT-AIMH Conference. If they are awarded the scholarship, they will receive an email with a promotional code that can be used at the time of registration. Only one scholarship can be awarded to an individual, per year. Depending upon available funding, once an applicant is awarded a scholarship, they may be asked to wait 12 months before they can reapply.
Who can apply?
Anyone in the Infant and Early Childhood Field (i.e. childcare provider, family childcare provider, home visitor, early interventionist, social worker, clinician, etc.)
Note: You may not register for the CT-AIMH Conference that you are applying for a scholarship for, until after you receive your award status letter.
Criteria for scholarship application:
Current financial need.
How to apply:
Use the scholarship application form on page 3, below. All applications or inquiries about the scholarship can be directed to the CT-AIMH Executive Director: [email protected]
Application and Award Status Letter Dates:
Application submission deadlines (before each CT-AIMH conference):
Spring Conference applications must be submitted by April 15.
Fall Conference applications must be submitted by October 15.
Award status letters sent:
Spring Conference status letters will be emailed by May 15. Fall Conference status letters will be emailed by November 15.
Process for deciding how to distribute scholarship funds:
An ad-hoc subcommittee of the CT-AIMH BOD, or the BOD Executive Committee will meet to review the applications, and decide how to distribute the funds based upon availability of funds dedicated to the scholarship (For example: If there is $1,000 in the account, 5 scholarships of $100 can be distributed in the Spring, and 5 $100 scholarships can be distributed in the fall).
