The “Connecticut
Association”, an affiliate of the World Association for Infant Mental Health, is
an association of professionals in Connecticut who are concerned with the social
and emotional development of infants and young children...
Goals:

To facilitate statewide cooperation and collaboration among individuals concerned with promoting conditions that will bring about the optimal development of infants and young children and their relationships with their caregivers. | |

To encourage the realization that infancy lays a critical foundation in the ongoing social-emotional development of individuals. | |

To provide information to the general public, that will enhance awareness and bring to public attention the social-emotional needs of children in the first years of life. | |

To promote education, research, and study of the effects of infant social-emotional development in the first years of life on the full range of developmental outcomes. | |
|
To promote the awareness and knowledge of the impact of the mental health of parents, families, and other caregivers on infants and early childhood development. | |
|
To promote the development of scientifically based programs of care, prevention, and intervention to optimize emotional well-being in infancy and early childhood. |
